Rick McIntosh Retires After 15+ Years of Service
We’d like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Rick McIntosh, who has officially retired after over 15 years of dedicated service at The Wilkins Group. Rick served as a telecommunications deployment expert, managing crews and leading broadband and fiber buildouts and maintenance projects across the country.
Rick’s career is a testament to the evolution of telecommunications technology—from the early days of 2G all the way to today’s cutting-edge 5G networks. Prior to rejoining Wilkins, Rick also contributed his expertise in Florida while working with Mastec.
Life After Retirement: Wildlife, Travel & Staying Connected
Even in retirement, Rick remains close to the industry he helped shape. He’s already enjoyed an Alaskan cruise and now spends much of his time relaxing on his Colorado acreage, home to deer, bass fish, and plenty of fresh air. True to his cable technician roots, Rick will still “dip in and dip out” to consult, recruit, and support projects on occasion, helping us keep a pulse on the industry.

Trenia McKinzie Celebrates 30 Years of Excellence
We’re also incredibly proud to recognize Trenia McKinzie, who is celebrating an inspiring 30 years with The Wilkins Group!
Trenia began her journey with us as a Project Coordinator in downtown Dallas, managing operations for our NationsBank customer. From there, she transitioned into dispatch and customer service roles for major clients like AT&T Broadband, Comcast, and Time Warner.
From Dispatcher to Vice President of Operations
Over the decades, Trenia’s leadership and dedication have taken her to multiple markets, managing wireline implementation operations in Austin, TX, Hampton, VA, and across Missouri. Today, she serves as Vice President of Operations, overseeing field productivity, P&L, and sales for our Outside Plant Construction and Buried Service Wire departments.
Trenia embodies the Wilkins Team Player spirit—humble, hungry, smart, and professional. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence continue to inspire everyone around her.
